Big Top BBC One, 7.30pm After a promising start last week, it seems the Circus Maestro is back to its usual state of being broke and in dire need of funds. Plonky the Clown pays a Porsche Design Watches visit to the local children's hospital to spread the healing power of laughter. But the only thing he spreads is misery and he's soon banned from the hospital for traumatising the children. However, a mystery virus proves to be the circus' salvation when Plonky is taken ill, meaning Lizzie, above, is forced to step into his clown shoes. Rather than finding it a painful task, Lizzie is surprised when she and Helen prove to be a big hit with the audience. Their only problem is now ensuring that Plonky doesn't recover too quickly.
