Man robs bank in Muscatine
MUSCATINE - Police in Muscatine are searching for the man who robbed the Hy-Vee Branch Central State Bank.
Police say the man entered the store at around 4:25 p.m. Wednesday, demanded money and then fled on foot.
The robber is described as a white male with brownish or blondish hair, about six-feet tall and weighing around 190 pounds. He is thought to be between 20 and 30 years old and has scruffy facial hair.
The suspect wore dark sunglasses, a black hat, dark clothes, gloves, and white athletic shoes.
Store clerk shot during robbery
DES MOINES - Police said a convenience store clerk was shot during a robbery in Des Moines.

No arrests were made.
Cedar Rapids OKs flood buyouts
CEDAR RAPIDS - Cedar Rapids is moving ahead with buying houses damaged in last year's flood.
The City Council on Wednesday approved the first batch of buyouts of 28 properties. They are in a group of 117 heavily-damaged homes at high risk to flood again, which Federal Emergency Management Agency is helping to purchase to create a greenbelt along the Cedar River.
FEMA will pay 90 percent of the purchase cost and the state will pay 10 percent.
Recount settles mayoral race
WATERLOO - A recount of ballots cast in Waterloo's mayoral runoff election two weeks ago has confirmed Buck Clark will be the city's next mayor.

A three-member recount board completed a review of ballots from the Dec. 1 runoff contest between Clark and City Councilman Steve Schmitt shortly before noon Thursday.
An official canvass of votes completed by the Black Hawk County Board of Supervisors showed Clark defeated Schmitt 4,304 to 4,254.
Suspect will be tried as adult
CHARLES CITY - A teenager charged in the death of a 3-year-old Charles City girl will be tried as an adult on first-degree murder charges.
Floyd County District Judge Gregg Rosenbladt issued the ruling in the case of 14-year-old Edgar Concepcion Jr., of Charles City.
In addition to murder, Concepcion is charged with first-degree sexual abuse in the death of Krystel Banes.
